Six years ago, Azerbaijan’s victory in Garabagh, a source of collective pride and honor, laid the foundation for a new geopolitical reality in the region.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks in an address to participants of the fifth meeting of secretaries of the Security Councils of member states of the Organization of Turkic States.
The president said the victory also created conditions for the realization of the Zangazur corridor, a historic gateway that connects the countries economically, logistically and strategically:
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the countries you represent for their support in the reconstruction and restoration of our territories liberated from occupation. The Azerbaijani people have received these initiatives with deep appreciation and gratitude."
The Zangazur corridor is viewed as an important regional transport link that could strengthen connectivity between Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan and other Turkic states.
