The results of the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum clearly demonstrated growing interest in Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks in his address to participants of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026), held in Baku under his patronage.
“Last year, investment agreements worth more than $10 billion were signed, with over $7 billion allocated to the non-oil sector,” he said.
The head of state also said the geographic representation of participants had expanded further this year, with international institutions, investors and leading companies represented more broadly. He said this reflected both confidence in Azerbaijan and the growing economic importance of the wider region.
“I hope that important investment projects will be launched with international investors and partner companies במסגרת the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum. I am confident that the discussions in Baku will give impetus to concrete initiatives and long-term cooperation, strengthen economic ties in the region, increase connectivity and contribute to overall prosperity. I wish success to the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum and productive discussions and mutually beneficial partnerships to all participants,” Ilham Aliyev said.
Investment forums provide a platform for governments, financial institutions and businesses to present projects, explore financing opportunities and establish cross-border partnerships. Azerbaijan’s location at the intersection of major transport routes gives such discussions added importance for regional trade and connectivity.
