Law enforcement officers in Baku have detained several individuals suspected of committing a series of thefts across various districts of the capital, targeting mobile phones, residential properties, and commercial facilities.

In the Nizami district, mobile phones belonging to five individuals were stolen from their workplaces and vehicles at different times. Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), reports that officers from the 24th Police Station of the Nizami District Police Department identified and detained 36-year-old Imran Hamidov, a previously convicted individual suspected of these crimes. Investigations revealed that Hamidov was already wanted for similar offenses committed in other districts of Baku. In separate operations conducted by the department, 29-year-old Vusal Aliyev and 28-year-old Farid Aliyev were also apprehended on suspicion of committing thefts from houses and supermarkets. Investigations into these cases are currently ongoing.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan continues to intensify its efforts to ensure public safety and protect private property in the capital. These operations are part of a broader strategy by the MIA to combat petty crime and recidivism, ensuring that individuals previously convicted of similar offenses are closely monitored. The Baku City Main Police Department regularly conducts such preventive measures to maintain law and order and enhance the security of business entities and residents in the metropolitan area.
