Preventive measures targeting motorcycle riders were carried out in Sumgait, resulting in the detention of 22 people.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs told the “Operative Information Center-OMM”.
A total of 22 motorcycle riders were detained during operations conducted in various parts of the city with the participation of officers from the State Road Police Division of the Sumgait City Police Department and other units.
Investigations found that two of them had been riding motorcycles under the influence of drugs. Relevant materials were collected and submitted to the court for consideration. By court decision, both individuals were administratively detained for 15 days.
The other 20 people were found to have been riding motorcycles without driving licenses and state registration plates. Administrative measures were taken in accordance with the law in connection with the violations.
Control and preventive measures will continue in Sumgait to ensure road safety and public order and to prevent similar unlawful incidents.
Such operations are generally aimed at identifying traffic violations, preventing impaired driving and ensuring that motorcycles are properly registered and operated by licensed riders.
