Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has issued a new statement about Azerbaijani serviceman Nasimi Musayev, who was detained in Armenia.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reported, citing Armenian media, that Pashinyan said the Azerbaijani serviceman, who was carrying a firearm, did not resist Armenian forces when he was detained.
He said the serviceman had also sustained some injuries.
“The Azerbaijani serviceman, who had a firearm in his hand, did not resist at all when he was detained. As far as I know, he also had some injuries,” Pashinyan said.

Armenian defense minister: Azerbaijani serviceman in custody is not a saboteur
Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan said the Azerbaijani serviceman held by Armenian authorities was not a saboteur.

Papikyan made the statement on Oct. 7 during a government question-and-answer session in the Armenian parliament.
He said the Azerbaijani serviceman did not resist Armenian forces when he was detained.
“This already shows that he is not a saboteur,” Papikyan said.
The Armenian defense minister also said the relevant authorities took appropriate measures after receiving information about the incident. Search operations were also conducted, he said.
The statements by Pashinyan and Papikyan concern the detention of an Azerbaijani serviceman in Armenia. Their remarks address the circumstances of the detention and the Armenian authorities’ characterization of the serviceman.
