Pakistan has intensified its diplomatic efforts to facilitate the restoration of dialogue between Iran and the United States.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing CBS News, that a high-ranking Pakistani official confirmed Islamabad is actively pursuing diplomatic initiatives to bring both Tehran and Washington back to the negotiating table.

According to the official, while no major breakthrough was achieved during discussions held over the weekend, there remains a sense of cautious optimism regarding the continuation of contacts between the two parties. Islamabad is maintaining intensive communication with both Washington and Tehran, urging them to resume formal dialogue as soon as possible. The primary objective is to reach a mutually acceptable agreement before the current ceasefire period expires. Efforts are currently underway to organize a second round of talks under the direct instructions of Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Pakistan has historically maintained a delicate balancing act in its foreign policy, often serving as a diplomatic bridge between Western powers and regional neighbors. Given its strategic location and long-standing ties with both the United States and Iran, Islamabad frequently plays a mediation role to prevent regional escalation. This latest initiative comes at a critical time for Middle Eastern stability, as US President Donald Trump continues to shape the administration's regional strategy. Such mediation efforts are viewed by the international community as vital steps toward de-escalating tensions and fostering long-term security in the region.
