Pakistan’s security forces have killed 19 militants during counterterrorism operations in Balochistan province.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Pakistani media, that the operations were conducted in Quetta and Kech against the “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna al-Hindustan” groups.
One Pakistani serviceman was also killed during the clashes.
Against the backdrop of rising tensions between Pakistan and India, Pakistan’s authorities have begun officially classifying most terrorist organizations operating in the country as Indian proxies and grouping them under the broader name “Fitna al-Hindustan.”
According to available data, Pakistan’s security forces neutralized 2,597 militants in 2025. During the same period, 5,397 terrorist attacks were recorded across the country, killing 1,235 people.
Balochistan, Pakistan’s southwestern province bordering Iran and Afghanistan, has long faced militant violence involving separatist and extremist groups. Security operations in the region remain part of Islamabad’s broader counterterrorism campaign, while the high number of attacks highlights the continuing security challenges facing the country.
