More than 2,000 residential buildings remain submerged in Dagestan following devastating floods triggered by torrential rains and powerful winds. Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media, that the natural disaster has caused significant damage to the region's infrastructure and residential areas.

Local authorities have warned that the situation remains critical as heavy rainfall and strong winds, reaching speeds of up to 20 meters per second, are expected to persist. Currently, 2,075 residential buildings, 1,817 residential settlements, and 173 sections of major highways are under water. To combat the aftermath of the flooding, a massive response team consisting of 1,200 personnel and 200 pieces of specialized equipment has been deployed for rescue and recovery operations.

Dagestan, located in the North Caucasus region, frequently faces challenges related to seasonal flooding and extreme weather patterns due to its complex geographical landscape. The current scale of the disaster has prompted emergency services to prioritize the evacuation of residents from the most affected zones and the restoration of vital transport links. Regional meteorologists continue to monitor water levels in local rivers as the unstable weather conditions pose ongoing risks to the stability of the local power grid and communication networks.
