More than 1,000 media representatives covered the proceedings and promotional activities related to the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is scheduled to be held in Baku.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for City Planning and Architecture and national coordinator for WUF13, made these remarks during the closing ceremony of the forum's previous session. "The extensive media coverage has significantly contributed to the global promotion of sustainable urbanization and international cooperation. The forum's objectives and discussions have reached a vast audience across various countries," Guliyev stated.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), is the world's premier conference on sustainable urban development. Azerbaijan's selection as the host for WUF13 in 2026 highlights the country's increasing influence in global urban policy and its commitment to implementing the New Urban Agenda. The upcoming event in Baku is expected to serve as a major platform for addressing the challenges of rapid urbanization and fostering innovative solutions for cities worldwide.
