Former Türkiye national team basketball player Oğuz Savaş considers Trabzonspor favourites for their FIBA Basketball Champions League game against Sabah.
Savaş said the Black Sea club had competed well last season and earned qualification for the Champions League as a result. He said he expected an interesting match.
The veteran basketball player said he did not know much about Sabah. According to Savaş, Trabzonspor head coach Selçuk Ernak assembled a strong squad last season, and the team is physically strong. Savaş said he hoped the stronger side would win and stressed that the Turkish team were favourites.
Oğuz Savaş won a silver medal at the 2010 World Championship with the Türkiye national team. During his career, he also played for Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş.
In Group A of the Champions League, Sabah will also face France’s Nanterre and Lithuania’s Rytas, alongside Trabzonspor.
