The dismissal of Ukraine's defense minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, has been met with surprise within NATO circles.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from Politico, a high-ranking NATO official praised Fedorov's performance and described his departure as unexpected.

The alliance representative noted that Fedorov was distinguished by his professional approach to defense and had successfully managed his responsibilities. European defense officials also characterized the former minister as an effective administrator with significant expertise in digital technologies, which played a crucial role in modernizing Ukraine's defense capabilities.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also expressed a positive view of Fedorov's tenure, emphasizing his role in the results Ukraine has achieved in recent times.

Fedorov's removal has also resonated widely within Ukraine. In Kyiv and other cities, residents have held demonstrations to show support for the former defense minister.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), established in 1949, remains the primary security alliance for its member states. Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, the alliance has played a pivotal role in coordinating military aid and strategic support for Kyiv, making personnel changes within the Ukrainian government a subject of close observation by Western allies.
