The first plenary session of the spring session of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has commenced. Speaker of the Parliament Sahiba Gafarova officially declared the opening of the spring session.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the official part of the meeting began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This ceremony marked the formal start of the plenary activities for the legislative body's spring term.
The agenda for the plenary session includes a number of significant issues. Specifically, the legislative work plan for the spring session of the Milli Majlis, as well as the reconstitution of the Counting and Disciplinary Commissions, were submitted for discussion. In total, 16 items are featured on the agenda for the current session.
The Milli Majlis is the unicameral branch of government in Azerbaijan, responsible for enacting laws, approving the state budget, and ratifying international agreements. Under the leadership of Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, the parliament continues to focus on strengthening the country's legal framework and supporting national development initiatives.
