350 metrlik nəhəng platforma İstanbul Boğazından keçirildi

A massive drilling platform, currently in transit from Italy to Romania, has successfully entered the Bosphorus Strait. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the 350-meter-long structure is being towed by the Liberian-flagged vessel "PACIFIC DUCHESS."

Authorities have implemented heightened security measures throughout the transit process. The Turkish General Directorate of Coastal Safety (KEGM) has deployed tugboats to escort the platform, ensuring it navigates the narrow waterway without incident. To facilitate this complex operation, maritime traffic through the Bosphorus was temporarily suspended in both directions.

The Bosphorus Strait is one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, connecting the Black Sea to the Mediterranean via the Sea of Marmara. Due to its narrow width and heavy commercial traffic, the passage of oversized vessels like drilling platforms requires strict adherence to international maritime safety protocols and close coordination with local authorities to prevent navigational hazards.
