Mass poisoning incident reported in Samux district

A mass poisoning incident, suspected to be caused by food consumption, has been recorded in the Samux district of Azerbaijan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, five individuals from the Aliusaghi village of the district have been admitted to the infectious diseases department of the Ganja United Hospital named after Abbas Sahhat.

Preliminary reports suggest that the poisoning was caused by the consumption of meat products. The affected individuals are identified as residents of Kalbajar, Dashkasan, and Ganja. Those hospitalized include Seymur Aliyev (born 1984), Elchin Jabbarov (born 1986), Mehriban Orucova (born 1975), Azer Allahverdiyev (born 1980), and Malahat Allahverdiyeva (born 1976). An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

Food safety remains a critical public health priority in Azerbaijan. The Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan regularly conducts inspections and awareness campaigns to prevent such incidents, particularly in rural areas where food storage and preparation standards are strictly monitored to ensure compliance with national health regulations.
