Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has officially become the most decorated German footballer in history. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the veteran shot-stopper achieved this milestone during the recent German Super Cup final.

The 40-year-old goalkeeper, who started in the match that ended in a 2-1 victory for Bayern Munich, secured his 36th career title. With this achievement, Neuer surpassed his former teammate Thomas Muller, cementing his legacy in the annals of German football history.

Neuer has been a cornerstone of Bayern Munich since joining the club in July 2011. During his tenure, the goalkeeper has won the Bundesliga title 13 times, along with two UEFA Champions League trophies and two UEFA Super Cup titles. On the international stage, he was a pivotal member of the German squad that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Although Neuer initially announced his retirement from international football in 2024, he returned to the national team to compete in the 2026 World Cup. However, the tournament proved challenging for Germany, as the team was eliminated in the Round of 32 following a penalty shootout loss to Paraguay.
