Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, has paid a visit to Azerbaijan's Masalli district.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, as part of the visit, Leyla Aliyeva visited the Masalli Juma Mosque, one of the historical, religious, and cultural monuments of the region, where she familiarized herself with its history and architectural features.

The Juma Mosque, located in the center of Masalli, was built in 1846 with the financial support of local residents and philanthropists. Following the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence, the mosque was renovated and reopened for worship. Having undergone major state-funded repairs in subsequent years, the mosque was included in the list of immovable historical and cultural monuments of local importance in 2001. At the end of the visit, Leyla Aliyeva was presented with a Holy Quran.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation regularly supports the restoration and preservation of historical and religious monuments across Azerbaijan, contributing to the protection of the country's cultural heritage and multicultural traditions.
