On June 26, a series of new projects were unveiled at the Seaside National Park in Baku.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the presentation ceremonies were attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Arzu Aliyeva, head of the Baku Media Center.
Opening of the Boulevard Sports Club
As reported by AZERTAC, the event began with the opening of the "Boulevard Sports Club," established following major renovations and reconstruction of the traditional tennis court complex within the Seaside National Park.
Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva toured the new sports facility, which was created as part of ongoing efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle, expand sports infrastructure, and enhance recreational opportunities in the capital. The club features a functional fitness gym equipped with modern technology, padel courts, and various dynamic sports amenities.
Presentation of the "WasteShark" water cleaning device
Subsequently, an innovative "WasteShark" autonomous water cleaning device was presented as part of measures to improve the ecological condition of the Baku Bay area within the Seaside National Park. During the presentation, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva were briefed on the device's technical capabilities. It was noted that the technology is designed to efficiently collect floating waste, biomass, and various pollutants in coastal areas, shallow waters, and enclosed basins, particularly amidst recent fluctuations in the Caspian Sea water levels.
Equipped with remote control systems, specialized sensors, and cameras, the agile device is designed to enhance ecological monitoring and cleaning efforts. The project was initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union.
Introduction of electric-powered carriages
The event also featured the introduction of electric-powered carriages, a new project offering visitors a unique way to tour the Baku Boulevard. Inspired by the city's historical carriage traditions, these modern vehicles provide an eco-friendly, silent, and comfortable transportation option along designated routes. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to promote sustainable and modern urban living in Azerbaijan. Following the presentation, the guests took a ride along the boulevard in the new electric carriages.
During the ceremonies, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva met with city residents and posed for photographs.
