Leyla Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva have visited the Ganja Memorial Complex to familiarize themselves with the conditions created at the site. According to information released by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the memorial complex was inaugurated by President Ilham Aliyev on September 27, 2025, to mark Remembrance Day. The monument serves to honor the memory of innocent civilians who fell victim to Armenia's missile terror during the Second Garabagh War and to demonstrate the devastating impact of the conflict to future generations.

The architectural structure of the complex consists of two main sections. The first floor houses a museum exposition dedicated to the events, while the second floor features a hall designed for various commemorative ceremonies. During the visit, Leyla Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva also visited the family of National Hero Natig Gasimov, who resides in Ganja. During the meeting, the hero's memory was honored with great respect, and sincere conversations were held with his family members.

Natig Gasimov is renowned for his unparalleled bravery during the First Garabagh War, particularly on the Aghdam-Khankendi front. He famously resisted Armenian occupiers single-handedly for five days while surrounded, refusing to surrender until his final moments. The city of Ganja, where the memorial is located, was a frequent target of ballistic missile attacks by Armenian forces during the 2020 conflict, resulting in significant civilian casualties and the destruction of residential areas in Azerbaijan's second-largest city.
