The Kremlin has announced it will intensify its pressure on Ukraine, signaling a continuation of its current military and political strategy.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov addressed journalists in Moscow, confirming that Russia remains committed to its objectives. Peskov was responding to recent calls from Kaja Kallas, the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who advocated for new sanctions and increased pressure on Moscow.

Peskov emphasized that Russia is determined to reach its goals and will maintain pressure on Kyiv. He further noted that Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov regularly briefs President Vladimir Putin on the outcomes of strikes against Kyiv and other regions, asserting that these operations exclusively target military and dual-use infrastructure. Additionally, the Kremlin spokesperson criticized the European Union, accusing Brussels of choosing a confrontational path that exacerbates regional tensions.

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which escalated significantly in February 2022, remains a focal point of international diplomacy and security concerns. The European Union has consistently utilized sanctions as a primary tool to influence Russian policy, while Kyiv continues to report extensive aerial attacks, with the Ukrainian Air Force recently stating that 74 missiles and 496 unmanned aerial vehicles were deployed in recent strikes.
