The Kremlin has refrained from commenting on the outcome of the parliamentary elections in Armenia, stating that it will wait until the results are officially announced by the country's Central Election Commission (CEC).
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Russian media, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov addressed the matter during a briefing with journalists. He noted that the Russian side is closely monitoring the situation but stopped short of providing an immediate assessment.
"I will refrain from making any official comments on this matter, as the final results from the Armenian CEC have not yet been released; we are awaiting these results," Peskov stated.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova indicated that Moscow intends to shape its future course in relations with Yerevan based on the concrete actions taken by the Armenian leadership. She further emphasized that the election results have clearly demonstrated a significant polarization within Armenian society.
According to data provided by the Armenian CEC, the ruling "Civil Contract" party secured 49.825% of the vote in the parliamentary elections, granting it the mandate to form a new government. These elections are viewed as a critical juncture for Armenia's domestic political landscape and its foreign policy trajectory in the South Caucasus region.
