The Press Secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, has issued a statement regarding the outcomes of the parliamentary elections in Armenia.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Peskov addressed the matter during a press briefing.

He stated that because official results have not yet been finalized, Moscow is not currently prepared to congratulate Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his victory. "It is important to wait for the official results, as there were many unclear points," the Kremlin spokesperson noted.

According to Peskov, reports of certain irregularities during the electoral process have also been documented, prompting the Kremlin's cautious stance. The Kremlin's position reflects a broader diplomatic approach, where Moscow typically waits for formal verification of election outcomes before engaging in official congratulatory protocols, particularly in the South Caucasus region.

It should be recalled that parliamentary elections concluded in Armenia on June 7. Analysts suggest that these elections are pivotal, as they are expected to significantly influence the country's geopolitical trajectory in the coming years. The electoral contest featured two blocs and 16 political parties. Preliminary results indicate that the Civil Contract Party is leading, while its primary challenger was considered to be the "Strong Armenia" bloc, led by businessman Samvel Karapetyan.
