President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the "Karabakh Textile House" Limited Liability Company (LLC) in the city of Khojaly on May 28.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and the founder of "Karabakh Textile House" LLC, Rizvan Tahmazov, briefed the head of state on the facility's operations.
It was reported that the facility, equipped with advanced Turkish and Chinese technologies, is set to produce 1.4 million textile items annually. In the initial phase, the plant will focus on manufacturing various home textile products, including bedding sets, bed and sofa covers, towels, and other related goods. While raw materials will be sourced primarily from the domestic market, the facility will also import supplies from Turkey, Uzbekistan, and China. The products are intended to meet domestic demand while also being earmarked for export.
The facility has created 85 permanent jobs, primarily for citizens who have returned to the liberated territories or reside in neighboring districts. Furthermore, 40 residents of the Khojaly and Aghdam districts will participate in a two-month vocational training program supported by the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. Participants who successfully complete the program will be employed at the plant. Future expansion plans include increasing the workforce to 200 employees and organizing additional garment production. Notably, the "Karabakh Textile House" LLC already operates a sewing factory in the city of Khankendi, which currently employs 60 people.
The initial investment value of the production facility is 4.2 million manats. The Entrepreneurship Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy provided 3.2 million manats in concessional loans for its establishment, while 1 million manats was contributed as private investment. The enterprise will benefit from all tax and customs incentives available to residents of the liberated territories.
The launch of this facility contributes to the industrial development of Azerbaijan, the expansion of local production and export potential, and the reduction of import dependency. It also plays a vital role in increasing employment opportunities in the liberated territories. The government has established a favorable investment and business climate in these regions, offering extensive tax, customs, and social incentives to encourage economic activity and ensure sustainable development.
