Kapaz Ganja secured a 2-1 victory over Sumgait in the opening match of the 30th round of the Misli Premier League. The match, held at the Yevlax City Stadium, saw a late comeback from the Ganja-based side.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the scoring opened in the 64th minute when Kapaz goalkeeper Yusif Imanov conceded an own goal, giving the visitors a temporary lead. However, the "Yellow-Blues" managed to turn the tide in the closing minutes of the game. Rauf Huseynli proved decisive for the home team, successfully converting two penalties in the 86th and 89th minutes to secure the win.
With this result, Kapaz has increased its total to 24 points, currently sitting in 10th place in the league standings, while Sumgait remains in 7th place with 38 points. The Misli Premier League is the premier professional football competition in Azerbaijan, where clubs compete for the national title and qualification for UEFA club tournaments.
