A ceremony was held to award certificates to another group of volunteers participating in the Emergency Situations Volunteers program.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed of this by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Emergency Situations Minister Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, relevant ministry officials, acting executive director of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan Yusif Valiyev, chairman of the Union of Volunteer Organizations of Azerbaijan Vugar Aliyev and emergency situations volunteers attended the event.
The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by a video presentation about the Emergency Situations Volunteers program.
Later, the trophy of the Zafar League football tournament, held among youth, volunteer and student organizations to mark the fifth anniversary of the historic Victory achieved in the Patriotic War, was presented to Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov. Emergency situations volunteers had won the tournament.
Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov then addressed the event.
Heydarov said the Emergency Situations Volunteers program had been established as a result of effective efforts to develop volunteer organizations in Azerbaijan, particularly in preventing emergencies and eliminating their consequences. He noted that the program had trained many volunteers with knowledge and skills aligned with the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ areas of activity.
At the end of his speech, the minister congratulated the emergency situations volunteers who had acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in emergency response as part of the socially beneficial volunteer movement. He expressed confidence that they would closely participate in the ministry’s activities aimed at ensuring the safety of the population and territories.
Acting Executive Director of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan Yusif Valiyev and Chairman of the Union of Volunteer Organizations of Azerbaijan Vugar Aliyev also spoke at the event. They discussed the stages of development of volunteering in Azerbaijan, including the rapid establishment and successful expansion of the Emergency Situations Volunteers program, and highlighted the importance of volunteer work.
Certificates were presented to the volunteers at the end of the ceremony.
