Ogtay Ismat oglu Gozalov has been appointed director of the Republican Center for Emergency and Urgent Medical Care.
The appointment was announced to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Association for the Management of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB).
Gozalov has held various leadership and expert positions at the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2008, according to the announcement. He has worked at WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, in its European, Eastern Mediterranean and Western Pacific regions, as well as in Denmark and Uzbekistan. In recent years, he served as a team leader at the WHO Country Office in Ukraine.
The Republican Center for Emergency and Urgent Medical Care provides emergency medical services in Azerbaijan. The appointment places an experienced international health professional at the head of the country’s center for urgent and emergency care.
