The Israeli army detained more than 150 Palestinians during raids in the occupied West Bank on Thursday before gradually releasing them, while also searching homes in the city of Qalqilya and the town of Azzun, according to local sources cited by Anadolu Agency.
About 15 military vehicles carrying more than 30 soldiers entered Azzun, where troops searched homes in several neighbourhoods and areas. Some detainees were held inside a house that the army reportedly converted into a military post and were subjected to field interrogations before being released, the sources said.
Raids and injuries in Qalqilya
In Qalqilya, Israeli forces continued an operation that began on Wednesday evening. Reinforcements were sent to several areas and neighbourhoods after midnight, while soldiers searched homes, detained dozens of Palestinian youths and questioned them in the field.
The army also raided a commercial shop and agricultural land, according to the sources. Two Palestinians, including a 14-year-old child, were wounded by live ammunition during the operation on Wednesday evening, an Anadolu correspondent reported.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its teams transported a child who had been shot in the thigh to hospital. Palestine TV reported that the number of wounded had risen to two.
House demolished and vehicles set alight
Israeli forces also blew up the home of Palestinian prisoner Dawas Hassoun in the town of Beit Imrin early Thursday. The forces surrounded the house before demolishing it, causing material damage to the building, local sources told Anadolu Agency.
Hassoun was arrested in March 2026 and is accused of killing an occupier about six months ago, according to the sources.
In a separate incident, occupiers burned two vehicles and spray-painted racist and hostile slogans on property during an attack on the village of Attara, north of Ramallah. The village has faced a series of similar attacks amid the establishment of a settlement outpost near Palestinian homes in recent months, the sources said.
Since Israel launched its war in Gaza in October 2023, Israeli military operations in the occupied West Bank have intensified alongside an increase in occupier attacks.
According to official Palestinian figures, the escalation has killed 1,206 Palestinians, including 254 children, injured about 13,350 people and resulted in more than 26,000 arrests.
