Iran has announced the imposition of restrictions on United States military supplies passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that TASS released this information, citing Ambassador Kazem Jalali.

The diplomat stated that the logistics and supply routes leading to US bases transit through the Strait of Hormuz, over which Iran maintains control. "A state of military necessity is in effect there, and Iran is taking measures to restrict the enemy's logistics to ensure its own security," the ambassador noted.

The announcement follows recent reports indicating that the Iranian military targeted a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. This strategic waterway is one of the world's most important oil transit chokepoints, linking Middle East petroleum producers with key markets in Asia, Europe, and North America. Tensions in the region have remained high as US President Donald Trump continues to monitor maritime security and the stability of global energy supplies.

The Strait of Hormuz, located between Oman and Iran, connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. Approximately one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption passes through the strait daily, making it a focal point for international security and geopolitical maneuvers. Any disruption to traffic in this narrow passage has significant implications for global energy prices and international trade stability.
