The Iranian Navy has claimed to have carried out a missile strike against the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Persian Gulf.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the statement was issued by the spokesperson for the Islamic Republic's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.

According to Iran's state broadcaster, the spokesperson stated that the USS Abraham Lincoln was struck by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, rendering the vessel non-operational. The report further alleges that following the strike, the US aircraft carrier departed the Persian Gulf and began moving back toward the United States.

The Persian Gulf remains one of the world's most critical maritime corridors, serving as a primary route for global energy supplies. Tensions in these waters often involve complex geopolitical maneuvers between regional powers and international naval forces. While Iran frequently conducts military exercises in the area to demonstrate its naval capabilities, such direct claims of strikes on US assets are rare and significantly impact regional security assessments.

As of now, there has been no official statement or confirmation from the United States regarding the incident. US President Donald Trump has previously emphasized the importance of maintaining maritime security and protecting American assets in international waters, particularly in the Middle East region.
