İran beynəlxalq internetə girişlə bağlı bütün məhdudiyyətləri aradan qaldırır

Iran is removing all restrictions previously imposed on access to the international internet.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the TASS news agency released this information, citing an Iranian diplomatic source. According to the source, restrictions on international internet access, along with those existing on the national internet platform, are being phased out starting from January 19.

The report noted that President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a formal letter addressed to relevant authorities, demanded the removal of all barriers to revitalize the internet market and ensure public access to the global network. It was emphasized that the process of lifting these restrictions is currently underway across the country.

The move follows years of strict digital censorship and frequent internet shutdowns in Iran, which authorities often justified as measures to maintain national security. The restoration of global connectivity is expected to impact both the country's struggling digital economy and its international communications. This policy shift aligns with President Pezeshkian's earlier campaign promises to ease social restrictions and improve Iran's technological infrastructure.
