On March 5, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze made a phone call to President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Prime Minister emphasized Georgia's full solidarity with the Azerbaijani state and its people, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured during the incident.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to Irakli Kobakhidze for the phone call and for the principled position demonstrated by the Georgian government. The leaders also engaged in an exchange of views regarding the prospects of Azerbaijan-Georgia bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.

The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an exclave of Azerbaijan, holds strategic importance in the South Caucasus region. Relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are characterized by a high-level strategic partnership, supported by joint large-scale energy and transport projects that contribute significantly to the economic stability and security of the region. This latest expression of support underscores the deep diplomatic ties and shared security concerns between Baku and Tbilisi.
