İlham Əliyev: Türk dünyası yeni qlobal güc mərkəzi olmalıdır

The international weight of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is increasing, and its role and position in global processes are strengthening, President Ilham Aliyev stated during the informal Summit of the Heads of State of the OTS held in Turkistan, Kazakhstan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state noted that Azerbaijan, which assumed the chairmanship at the Gabala Summit, is actively working toward further deepening cooperation within the organization. "Our family, the Turkic world, should become one of the influential geopolitical power centers of the 21st century. Azerbaijan will continue to spare no effort for the strengthening of the Organization of Turkic States," President Ilham Aliyev emphasized. He also highlighted the strategic depth of relations with Kazakhstan, noting that he has visited the country eight times in the last five years, while President Tokayev has visited Azerbaijan six times, cementing an alliance based on the Joint Declaration signed four years ago.

The Organization of Turkic States, established to promote comprehensive cooperation among Turkic-speaking nations, has increasingly focused on economic integration, regional security, and transport logistics, particularly the Middle Corridor project. The tradition of holding informal summits, which was notably advanced during the 2024 meeting in Shusha, serves as a platform for member states to align their foreign policies and address emerging global challenges. By leveraging their collective energy resources and geographic positioning, the OTS member states aim to solidify their status as a unified bloc in the evolving multipolar world order.
