Ilham Aliyev arrives in Turkmenistan for working visit

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Turkmenistan on October 8 for a working visit.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that an honor guard was lined up at Turkmenbashi International Airport in honor of the Azerbaijani president.

Aliyev was welcomed by Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and other officials.

Turkmenbashi is a port city on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea. Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan maintain ties as Caspian littoral states, with cooperation spanning regional issues and economic relations.
