In recent years, Azerbaijan’s relations with Central Asian countries have expanded significantly.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made the statement while addressing the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Central Asia in Turkmenbashi.
Aliyev said political ties were at a high level and noted that mutual visits at the highest level had become regular.
“Trade and economic cooperation is strengthening, mutual investment is increasing, and joint projects are being implemented,” the president said.
The Consultative Meeting brings together the leaders of Azerbaijan and Central Asian states to discuss regional cooperation. The expansion of economic ties, investment and joint projects reflects the growing importance of connectivity among countries in the Caspian and Central Asian regions.
