Hikmat Hajiyev receives EU delegation

Today, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev received a delegation from the European Union Council’s Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST), comprising representatives of more than 20 European countries.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the presidential aide announced the meeting on “X.”

He said the Azerbaijan-European Union partnership is strategically important and is developing on the principles of mutual respect, equality and shared benefit. “High-level contacts have recently intensified political dialogue, while practical cooperation has gained significant momentum.”

“Azerbaijan’s contribution to Europe’s energy security and its strategic role in regional connectivity, particularly through the Middle Corridor, are important areas of Azerbaijan-EU relations. Cooperation is also expanding into clean energy, digital transformation and innovation, as well as investment.

“This year, we expanded our security dialogue to include a Political and Security Dialogue format and are working on a new comprehensive bilateral agreement, as well as updated Partnership Priorities.

“The evolving bilateral agenda creates opportunities to turn shared interests into practical outcomes.”
