The Hezbollah movement has carried out a series of coordinated attacks against military positions in southern Lebanon and northern Israel, marking a significant escalation in regional hostilities.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media, reports that the attacks involved the extensive use of missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and artillery shells.

According to official statements, the targets included Israeli military outposts, troop concentrations, command headquarters, artillery positions, and a military industrial facility. Specifically, it is claimed that six Merkava tanks belonging to the Israeli army were destroyed near the town of Taybe in southern Lebanon. Reports indicate that the strikes resulted in casualties among Israeli military personnel, with helicopters deployed to evacuate the wounded.

Simultaneously, the Israeli military has continued its air and sea strikes across various regions of Lebanon, including the capital, Beirut. According to the latest data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, Israeli operations have resulted in 968 deaths and 2,432 injuries. The conflict has led to a humanitarian crisis, with the number of internally displaced persons in Lebanon now exceeding one million.

The ongoing border clashes between Hezbollah and Israel have intensified since late 2023, drawing international concern over the potential for a wider regional conflict. This escalation follows months of cross-border fire that has displaced tens of thousands of civilians on both sides of the Blue Line, the UN-recognized boundary between the two nations. International mediators continue to call for a diplomatic resolution to prevent further destabilization in the Middle East.
