The Israeli military has launched a series of airstrikes targeting various residential areas and locations in southern Lebanon.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from Lebanon's official news agency NNA, Israeli fighter jets bombed the Kantara direction of the Houjeir Valley overnight.
In addition to the airstrikes, Israeli forces engaged in automatic weapons fire targeting the town of Khiam.
An incident was also recorded in the town of Hadasa, located in the Bint Jbeil district. Reports indicate that Israeli military personnel opened fire with automatic weapons on the western neighborhood of the town, with military vehicle movements observed in the area.
It should be noted that the Israeli military has been conducting intensive airstrikes in southern Lebanon since March 2. These attacks have targeted numerous residential settlements throughout the region.
According to Lebanese government data, the ongoing hostilities have displaced over one million people within the country.
Despite a ceasefire agreement reached on April 17, which had been extended several times, the Israeli military resumed airstrikes on the morning of August 15. According to statistics from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the death toll from the attacks, which have been ongoing since March 2, has reached 4,346.
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which operates primarily in southern Lebanon, remains a significant source of regional instability. The area has seen recurring cycles of violence, often linked to broader geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with international mediators frequently attempting to negotiate long-term de-escalation strategies to prevent a wider regional war.
