France faced Belgium at the Stade de France in the fourth round of the Nations League. Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes was in goal for France, making his debut for the national team.
According to French media, Restes, aged 21 years and 208 days, became the youngest goalkeeper to appear for France in 53 years.
The previous record belonged to Jean-Paul Bertrand-Demanes, who started against Denmark on Nov. 21, 1973, aged 21 years and 182 days. France won that match 3-0.
Dodi Lukebakio scored past Restes in the 35th minute of the match between France and Belgium. At the time of publication, Belgium led 1-0. The final score had not been reported.
