A new shipment of grain is set to transit through the territory of Azerbaijan, moving from Russia to Armenia. This logistics operation marks the latest in a series of cargo movements facilitated through the Azerbaijani transport network.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a cargo consisting of 11 railcars carrying 1,108 tons of wheat and 4 railcars carrying 273 tons of barley will be dispatched from the Bilajari station of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC toward the Boyuk Kasik station.
To date, the transit corridor through Azerbaijan has facilitated the transport of over 47,000 tons of grain, approximately 9,000 tons of fertilizer, 1,136 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, 1,114 tons of coal, and 67 tons of timber from Russia to Armenia. Furthermore, nearly 15,000 tons of diesel fuel and approximately 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline have been exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia.
The use of Azerbaijani infrastructure for regional transit underscores the country's strategic role as a key logistics hub in the South Caucasus. By providing reliable rail and transport corridors, Azerbaijan continues to support regional connectivity and trade facilitation, adhering to international transit protocols that allow for the movement of goods between neighboring states.
