Gordon says England could have beaten Czechia by a wider margin

England defeated Czechia 2-0 in the second round of Group 3 in League A of the UEFA Nations League.

Anthony Gordon opened the scoring in the 47th minute, while Harry Kane doubled England’s lead in the 69th minute. Czechia midfielder Schultz was sent off in the 23rd minute.

Speaking to UEFA’s official website after the match, Gordon said his team had produced a dominant performance:

“We played well and had a clear advantage. We probably could have scored more goals. Perhaps we lacked precision in the final stages of our attacks. There are areas we need to work on. I thought we became a little passive after the opponent went down to 10 men and allowed them to have too much possession.”

England will face Croatia away in the next round, while Czechia will play Spain. Both matches will be held on Oct. 3.
