Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and France's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, held a telephone conversation to discuss the escalating security situation in the Middle East and bilateral cooperation.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that during the call, the ministers expressed deep concern over the rising military escalation in the region. They emphasized that further deterioration of the situation poses serious risks to both regional and international security, highlighting the urgent need for renewed diplomatic efforts and dialogue.

During the conversation, the French Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the support provided in the process of evacuating French citizens from the Islamic Republic of Iran under the current complex circumstances. Jean-Noël Barrot noted the significance of Baku's logistical and diplomatic assistance in ensuring the safety of French nationals during the crisis.

The ministers also exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and France. Following the recent meeting between the presidents of the two countries in Copenhagen, both parties underscored the importance of maintaining a continuous dialogue in areas of mutual interest. The discussion concluded with an exchange on broader regional security challenges and future cooperation prospects.

Azerbaijan has frequently served as a strategic hub for international humanitarian and evacuation efforts due to its unique geographical position and balanced foreign policy. This latest cooperation with France reflects Baku's growing role as a reliable regional partner in crisis management and its commitment to international stability amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East.
