Douglas Macgregor, a former advisor to the US Secretary of Defense, has shared his assessments regarding the ongoing trajectory of the Ukraine-Russia war.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Macgregor stated in a post on the "X" social media platform that Russia has gained a strategic advantage in the conflict. He further claimed that Moscow's previous diplomatic restraint toward Washington has effectively dissipated.
Macgregor asserted that NATO's attempts to de-escalate the conflict have proven ineffective, leading to severe consequences for Ukraine. According to the former advisor, Ukraine is currently facing a critical situation characterized by the depletion of military personnel and significant shortages of ammunition, resulting in substantial losses on the battlefield.
The former advisor also reiterated his previous criticisms of the European Union's rhetoric against Russia, arguing that Europe lacks the military capacity to effectively counter Moscow. He urged European policymakers to objectively assess current geopolitical realities rather than overestimating their own capabilities.
