The investigation into the former head of German intelligence is not connected to Azerbaijan.
In a report by Operative Information Center-OMM, informed sources told AnewZ that the investigation involving former German intelligence chief August Hanning has no connection to Azerbaijan.
The sources said German intelligence agencies had informed the Azerbaijani side that the case involved other countries.
Hanning allegedly used the classified material he obtained himself to prepare analytical reports, without passing the core materials on to third parties, the report said.
German prosecutors have not identified the foreign intelligence services or the countries involved.
Azerbaijan’s Media and Broadcasting Council has described reports linking the country to the case as disinformation.
