First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva has shared a message on her social media accounts on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, extending her best wishes to the people of Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the post reads: “May Allah accept everyone’s prayers, wishes, and sacrifices!”
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant religious holidays in the Islamic world. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command, before God provided a ram to sacrifice instead. In Azerbaijan, the holiday is celebrated with deep reverence, emphasizing values of charity, unity, and compassion, as citizens participate in communal prayers and charitable acts across the country.
