Forces from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (FHN) continued uninterrupted safety measures throughout the past day and night in areas flooded due to intensive rainfall in Azerbaijan.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the FHN press service that as a result of the rescue operations, a total of 454 people, including 75 minors, were evacuated to safe locations.
The measures to eliminate the consequences of the flooding are being carried out by the FHN Civil Defense Troops, the State Fire Protection Service, the Special Risky Rescue Service, the State Service for Control over Small Ships and Water Rescue, and the forces of the Baku and Sumgait Regional Centers.
Heavy rainfall in the Absheron Peninsula often necessitates rapid mobilization of emergency services to manage drainage and ensure public safety. The Ministry of Emergency Situations remains on high alert during such weather events to mitigate damage to infrastructure and residential areas. These coordinated efforts are part of Azerbaijan's broader civil defense strategy to protect citizens from natural disasters and seasonal flooding risks.
