The forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (FHN) continued uninterrupted operations throughout the day and night to eliminate the consequences of heavy rainfall across Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry has released an official statement regarding the ongoing emergency response.
According to the Ministry, water drainage and necessary safety measures are currently being carried out in the Nizami, Sabunçu, Surakhani, Binagadi, and Sabail districts of Baku, as well as in the city of Sumgait and the Absheron, Khizi, Shabran, and Khachmaz regions. The operations involve personnel and specialized equipment from the FHN Civil Defense Troops, State Fire Protection Service, Special Risky Rescue Service, and the State Service for Control over Small Vessels and Water Rescue, alongside regional centers in Baku and Sumgait.
Heavy seasonal rains in Azerbaijan often necessitate rapid mobilization of emergency services to prevent flooding in low-lying urban areas and coastal regions. The Ministry of Emergency Situations remains on high alert during such weather events to ensure the safety of citizens and the protection of infrastructure. These coordinated efforts are part of Azerbaijan's broader disaster management strategy to minimize the impact of natural phenomena on the country's residential and industrial zones.
