Esmiра Jafarova, Azerbaijan’s newly appointed ambassador to Hungary, has submitted a copy of her credentials to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that the head of Azerbaijan’s diplomatic mission in Budapest announced this on her account on the “X” social network.
“Today, I presented a copy of my credentials to Mariann Szücs, head of the Protocol Department of Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thank you for the hospitality,” Jafarova wrote.
President Ilham Aliyev appointed Esmira Jafarova as Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Hungary by an order dated July 29.
The presentation of a copy of credentials is a standard diplomatic procedure that formally marks the beginning of an ambassador’s work in the host country. Ambassadors later present the original credentials to the head of state.
