On August 14, 4-year-old Akif Javid oglu Abdullayev passed away after becoming trapped in a water pump at the Sea Breeze resort center located in the Nardaran settlement.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, businessman Emin Agalarov addressed the incident via his personal Instagram account.
“A tragic incident occurred at the water park within the Sea Breeze complex, resulting in the loss of a child’s life,” Agalarov stated. “On behalf of myself and the entire Sea Breeze team, I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to the family. There are no words that can alleviate the pain of the parents and loved ones at such a moment.”
Agalarov noted that an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances of the incident, specifically how the child gained access to the restricted technical zone behind the barriers where the water pumps operate. “We are providing full cooperation to the investigation,” he added.
The businessman emphasized that safety remains a primary commitment for the resort. “The safety of children and adults has always been an unconditional priority and obligation for Sea Breeze. All zones and facilities of the resort are regularly inspected by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and relevant authorities. The water park has been operating for three seasons and has hosted over 350,000 guests during this period,” Agalarov said, adding that all security measures will be re-evaluated and strengthened in light of the tragedy. He also pledged that the Sea Breeze team would provide all necessary support and assistance to the grieving family.
