A magnitude 3 earthquake has been recorded in the Syunik region of Armenia, according to reports from the region.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the information was released by the Rescue Service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the official data, the seismic activity occurred on August 4 at 11:54 local time, approximately 23 kilometers southwest of the city of Sisian.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers, with the intensity at the epicenter reaching magnitude 4. The tremors were felt with an intensity of 2-3 magnitude in the cities of Sisian and Dastakert, as well as in the villages of Arevis, Tanaat, Tasik, Salvard, and Torunik.
Currently, there have been no reports of casualties or structural damage resulting from the seismic event. The Syunik region, located in the southern part of Armenia, is known for its mountainous terrain and is situated in a seismically active zone, which frequently experiences minor to moderate tremors.
