Azərbaycanda dövlət qurumlarına kiberhücumlar kəskin şəkildə artıb

During the first six months of this year, the Special Communication and Information Security State Service (SCISSS) processed 8,423,541 emails within the electronic mail service created for government agencies.

According to calculations by the Operative Information Center-OMM, based on data from the SCISSS, this figure represents a 13% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

In the first half of this year, 5,736,086 of the processed emails were delivered to users, while 2,687,455 were blocked due to containing malicious content. Notably, the number of blocked emails has surged by 99%, effectively doubling compared to the previous year.

For context, in 2025, the state electronic mail service received a total of 17,695,349 emails. Of those, 12,549,565 were delivered to users, while 5,145,784 were blocked as malicious. The rise in cyber threats highlights the growing importance of cybersecurity infrastructure in Azerbaijan, as state institutions increasingly digitize their services and become primary targets for sophisticated phishing and malware campaigns.
