Hysteria continues in Armenia over the visit of foreign diplomats accredited in Azerbaijan to Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that the Western Azerbaijan Community issued a statement on the matter.
According to the statement, the developments once again show that Armenian society is not ready for peace:
"Instead of preparing society for peace and promoting the concept of a ‘Real Armenia,’ the Armenian authorities are directing the processes themselves and making unacceptable statements.
Armenia’s claim to cultural heritage belonging to the ancient Azerbaijani people in Azerbaijan’s sovereign territories, as well as the Armenian prime minister’s statement that the Gandzasar monastery is allegedly of Armenian origin, is unacceptable.
Armenian society must stop coveting the lands and culture of other peoples and free itself from being held hostage by a fabricated history. If Armenia is genuinely concerned about protecting cultural heritage, it must end the destruction of mosques, historical monuments and cemeteries belonging to the Azerbaijani people, as well as practices such as the restoration of the Blue Mosque in Yerevan during the occupation period and its attribution to another people, as happened with the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque in Shusha."
The Western Azerbaijan Community is an organization that advocates the safe, dignified and peaceful return of Azerbaijanis displaced from areas in present-day Armenia, while Azerbaijan and Armenia continue efforts to establish lasting peace in the region.
